PRIMARY ELECTIONS BEGIN TODAY IN NEW MEXICO

New Mexico has closed Primary Elections, meaning, you must be registered with a major political party (Democratic, Libertarian, or Republican Party) to be eligible to cast a ballot in the June 7, 2022 Primary Election.

To check your voter registration information, you may do so by visiting www.nmvote.org.
Select “Find my Registration & Election Information”. Once you enter the required information, you will be able to view your information.

Same Day Voter Registration is available on Election Day:  A qualified elector may register to vote or update an existing voter registration in person only.  Voter is required to provide specific identification as required by law.  Registered voters with a major political party affiliation shall not be allowed to change party affiliation when updating an existing registration using Same Day Registration; however, voters without a major political party affiliation may select a major political party for the purpose of voting in the Primary Election.

Sample Ballots are specific to each voter’s precinct and party affiliation. Sample ballots may be obtained in the Clerk’s Office, or viewed online at www.nmvote.org. Scroll down to “Find my Registration & Election Information” and enter your name, year of birth, and select Curry County. On the left side, you will see “My Sample Ballot”.

Absentee By Mail Voting begins Tuesday, May 10 (First day ballots may be mailed)
In order to receive an absentee ballot by mail for the 2022 Primary Election, an Absentee Ballot Application must be received by the Clerk’s Office prior to 5:00pm on Thursday June 2. Completed Absentee Voting Materials MUST be returned to the Clerk’s Office by 7:00pm on Election Day.

Election Day – June 7, 2022 – Polls will be open 7:00am – 7:00pm
