CLOVIS (KSMX)- The Clovis High School AFJROTC has a goal to lay 3,500 wreaths on the graves of local veterans this December, in an effort to assist the Gold Star Mothers with their Wreaths Across America campaign.
Over the weekend, cadets conducted a fundraiser and made enough money to purchase 300 additional wreath sponsorships, bringing the total to 1,000.
With their annual wreath-laying ceremony less than a month away, AFJROTC students are far from reaching their goal and are seeking sponsors from the community.
Sponsors contribute $15 per wreath. Of that amount, $10 is used to purchase a wreath to be laid on the grave of a local veteran and the remaining $5 is given as a contribution to the Gold Star Mothers.

The community is invited to join the Clovis High School AFJROTC at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec 14 for the wreath-laying ceremony at Lawnhaven Cemetery.
This is not a fundraiser for JROTC, it is a community service project with the purpose of remembering those who have sacrificed defending our freedom and country; honoring those men and women who currently serve to protect our Nation, and teaching our young the value of freedom and the meaning of our flag.
Importantly, it is also an effort by JROTC to support the Clovis Gold Star Mothers who have given a child in service to our country.
