Potential exposure at Parkview Elementary closing grab and go meal site

CLOVIS (KSMX)- Due to a potential risk of exposure of COVID 19 at Parkview Elementary, meals will not be provided at this school for the remainder of the school year to allow time for safe and appropriate cleaning, as well as to provide time for staff members to self-quarantine and monitor for symptoms, according to a press release from school administration.

Yucca Middle School will serve as an alternate meal site during the closure of the Parkview meal distribution program.

Meal service at Parkview will resume beginning May 21 with the launch of the La Casa Drive-Up, Grab & Go summer meal program. Meal distribution through La Casa, without the use of Parkview Elementary’s kitchen, will be conducted outside the school building and families will be required to remain in their vehicles during meal pick-up.

All meal sites in the District have been observing public health guidelines and meals have been distributed through a contactless, walk-up distribution system. Additionally, meals are prepared by staff wearing gloves and masks, eliminating human contact with food or packaging.
