For those that missed Secretary- Designate, Dr. Tracie Collins, of the New Mexico Department of health’s live new cast yesterday discussing the future distribution of the vaccine, here are the main highlights.
- At this point in the vaccination process, there have been 106,525 vaccines ordered and delivered to NM. Based off of the 74% of providers reporting, 48,299 vaccines have been administered. NM projected total is between 62,000 and 68,000 administered. According to the CDC, NM has one of the highest administration rates in the country.
- nehealth.org is the site you can register for the vaccine. There has already been close to 300,000 New Mexicans that have registered. They encourage all New Mexicans to register. If you don’t feel comfortable using the website, NMDOH is working on a call center people can call and have someone walk them through the process. This should be up and running by the end of the week.
- Information on the next phase, 1B will also be coming out soon, as to who will be in line to receive the vaccine next. Groups like teachers and those 75 years old and over, are being considered for the next phase.
- Currently there hasn’t been any reports of adverse reactions to the vaccine
