CLOVIS (KSMX)- The Clovis High School (CHS) Marching Band was recently recognized in Santa Fe by Governor Michelle Lujan-Grisham and members of the New Mexico House of Representatives and Senate. As part of the recognition, a proclamation was presented declaring February 3, 2020, as “Clovis High School Marching Band Day.”
“The Clovis High School Marching Wildcats under the direction of band director Bill Allred have built up impressive wins and brought recognition and honor to Clovis High School,” the proclamation states.
The proclamation highlights the achievements of the Band to include eight consecutive New Mexico state championships and seven consecutive grand championships, both of which are state records.
In addition to the proclamation, the Band received a New Mexico State flag which was flown over the State Capitol on February 3 honoring the Band’s outstanding achievements.
Receiving the proclamation was Clovis High School Band Director Bill Allred, Director of Music Education Brandon Boerio, Clovis High School Principal Jay Brady, and Superintendent of Schools Renee Russ.
