PORTALES (KSEL)- Eastern New Mexico University has announced that in-person events for Homecoming Week, which was scheduled to take place from Sept. 21-26, will be canceled.
The ENMU Alumni Association is planning a series of virtual events to recognize and celebrate alumni, which will be posted on enmu.edu/Homecoming at a later date.
Canceled in-person events include:
- ENMU Foundation Awards Breakfast
- Pep rally and bonfire
- Homecoming Parade and tailgate.
Alumni reunions for the classes of 1970, 1995 and 2010 have been postponed to 2021.
Annamaria Short, director of the ENMU Office of Alumni Affairs, says, “After careful thought and consideration for the safety of both the university community and our guests, it has been decided that Homecoming 2020 will not take place as scheduled on campus. While we are disappointed to have to postpone these incredible celebrations, our desire to be prudent with decisions about the health and safety of both the alumni community and our campus home overwhelm this sadness.”
